About the event

We are hosting our second chapter meeting! This meeting will focus on the possibilities for the Dayton Amtrak station and its benefits to the entire metropolitan area. We will be partnering with the City of Dayton Planning Division and CityWide for this event.

Note: Reporters from Dayton-area news outlets will likely be present to cover this event. If people ask you questions while wearing news credentials, please bear in mind responses may be used in news stories.

During the meeting, three speakers from the city and CityWide will present to our chapter attendees the history of Dayton passenger rail and its possible future under the 3C + D proposed route.

The speakers are:

  • Elizabeth Dakin – Planner, City of Dayton
  • John Gower – Urban Design Coordinator, CityWide Development
  • Tony Kroeger – Planning Division Manager, City of Dayton

This month’s meeting will be held at Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley’s main campus. There are multiple ways to get to the campus:

  • RTA routes 7, 16, and 17: Ride any of these routes to the Main and Lincoln stop.
  • RTA route 6 and the Flyer: Ride either of these routes to the Warren and Buckeye stop.
  • RTA route 18: Ride this route to the Ludlow and Zeigler stop.
  • Car: Drive to the campus and use either street parking or visitor parking
  • Bike: Ride your bike over to the campus and use nearby structures to lock your bike

The main campus has a wheelchair-accessible parking lot and entrance.

We look forward to seeing you at our chapter meeting and discussing what passenger rail might look like in Dayton!
