WHAT: All Aboard Ohio Annual Meeting
WHEN: 9:30 am to 2 pm Saturday May 11
WHERE: Spaghetti Warehouse (back room, ground floor), 397 West Broad Street, just across the river from downtown Columbus
Site is between the two elevated railroads. The meeting site is ADA-accessible and on COTA’s #10 and #12 routes.
WHO: Our guest speaker is Nick Donahue, Policy Director at Transportation For America in Washington DC. Previously he served as the Assistant Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia which has a very active passenger rail development program. Mr. Donahue will discuss federal multimodal transportation policies (current and proposed), how we can help bring Ohio in line with those policies through education and grassroots organizing, and other ideas for moving forward.
We will also have reports and discussion on the Toledo National Train Day Event (May 4 – see advertisement below), Ohio Department of Transportation budget battle, Cleveland/Akron-Youngstown-Pittsburgh Summit (see posting above), Chicago-Fort Wayne-Lima-Columbus rail study progress report, Chicago-East Coast Amtrak expansion update and info on next meetings in Cleveland (TOD-On-Tap; CVSR Wheels In The Valley) and in Cincinnati (Streetcar, Eastern Corridor, Cardinal/Hoosier topics).
Registration includes morning refreshments and choice of lunch entree: spaghetti & meatballs, 15-layer lasagne, four-cheese manicotti, fettucini alfredo, pesto spaghetti basillica or grilled chicken caeser salad, plus beverages.
